Les Zazous was born of months of travel throughout Europe in search of authentic and stimulating music – sounds and textures to stir the soul. Traipsing from the charming cafés of Paris to the intimate tablaos of Sevilla, a passion was ignited to create a unique and compelling brand of cosmopolitan music. Inspired by the raw energy of gypsy jazz, the sensual pull of French chanson, and the heat of Latin ballads, all rolled together with stylish American swing, a musical chord was struck. On a sultry summer evening, Les Zazous introduced its signature ‘Bistro Jazz’ sound on a tiny but momentous stage as the opening band for world-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer and his orchestra at the Hollywood premier of the blockbuster film Inception.
Since that enchanted evening, Les Zazous has performed for a long list of notable events from coast to coast, including the Beverly Hills Concert Series, The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, The French Embassy in Washington DC, The Queen Mary in Long Beach, The Ritz Carlton Hotels, Disney Films, Bravo TV, The Garry Marshall Theatre, The California Club and the Museum Stage at the Hollywood Bowl.
